First, my experience is with hide glue (in pearl glue form) I have not worked with fish bladder glue, but I have no reason to belive it is different in this way.

After boiling, let it dry. Don' add water now. Pour the glue in a shallow dish, cut it in pieces, so it dries before it starts to rot. Dry hide glue keeps for long time. Wet glue keeps for some days before deteriorating, and goes bad.

When using hide glue in pearl form it is my experience best to put it in cold water the night before it is to be used. Then it needs very little heating before it is to be used. To mucth heat affects glue quality.

Hcspng,

Do not boil the bladder for a long time after dissolve the tissues. Long boiling time makes the glue weak.
