In response to many requests to give Chinese archery tuition (most of the time I can't), I've provided a basic outline on YouTube. If you have comments/questions, it would be better to post them here than on YouTube directly, because I can't keep monitoring YouTube. See the links in the posts below.

Thank you, Stephen, for taking the time to make these videos. I really enjoyed them and I found them very informative and useful. I always wondered about the Chinese technique and this is the first time I see it on practice. Now I see what's the 5 point technique. I didn't know the arrow is located at shoulder level, lower than any other archery discipline.
Also, it's impressive to see how a strength bow really looks like. I've seen them before on pictures but looking one next to a person really puts things into perspective!

Stephen, i've really enjoyed all these videos. Very constructive, excellent, clear and usefull. What more, i understood every your word;-) Thank you. Is there some video on making the bow?
Best regards

Very excellent. It must have been fun making those videos. I especially enjoy the nocking explanations and the humor at the end of Part 2. (Granted, lots of animals don't enjoy having arrows waved in their ears.)

So far, the two most useful tips that I've had a chance to practice are (1) how to nock the arrow without looking, and (2) breathing in during the draw.

It's neat how drawing the bow takes less effort while you're inhaling.

actually, same problem, i want to help you ,but i can not do the same fast than stephen maybe i am in a wrong way, the result is i need use eye know feather direction , the + type nock or + type feather is good for without looking

I'll admit, I initially look at the arrow to get the feather orientation as I'm grabbing it from my Olympic-style quiver, but then I look toward the target the rest of the way.

But my current quiver is not optimal for no-look nocking --- the arrows juggle around, and the nock end of the arrows are resting forward instead of backward. I imagine that if you use a horse archery quiver (is that the proper name?), or put the arrow in your belt as Stephen does, you can orient the feathers beforehand and thereby look at the target the entire time during shooting. This should work for 3-fletched '-'-nocked arrows.

thank you, this is very help for me, as the return, you can try use 3 fingers hold the arrow nock, circumgyrate it for find the flat arrow nock, then still circumgyrate about 90 degree find the right sign on string then nock it,
Bede
If you have arrows fletched close to the nock, you can feel the end of the feather and the groove of the nock while putting the arrow on the string. The thumb and the index finger are on either side of the nock while the middle finger is under the two hen feathers.

This is when the feathers are glued on in the profile of the letter "Y" relating to the nock "|". The stem of the "Y" is pointing up.
