Bending horn using electric owen
I out a piece of water buffalo horn in electric owen with 150 celsius for 40 minutes. It bends nicely and takes more time cool since it hotter than boiled horn as water vapors in 100 degrees.
Hot air gun has the problem of burning the horn, but I think it is because the temperature can not be controlled. Not so with electric owen.

Great idea jkekoni.
Does the aroma of baking buffalo horn bother the neighbors?

did you try that with wood too ?
btw:
horn = keratin (not collagen)
hair = keratin
so you applied the "hot air method" of hair styling
:)

There no aroma. Belt sanding is however a different game.
I did not invent that myself. I got it from Finnish boyer forum

I tried that today and must say it really works fine.
5-10 min at 150? was fairly enough.
One can prepare the hornstrips almost perfectly to fit the needed form before glueing
thanks for the tip !

Hot horn is also easier to cut, but wear gloves.
Works nicely indeed!
