I am finishing up a horse bow my buddy had started for me and have no idea how to wrap the cordage around the syahs and belly of the bow, any help would be much appretiated on how to do this.

I assume you mean as seen in Hungarian replicas like Grozer and Kassai at the grip/limb fade out and siyah/limb?
That is a similar technique to serving a bowstring or whipping fletchings.

Leaving a long trailing end, form a loop and begin lashing so that each binding traps the trailing end and thus after enough wraps, the loop can be pulled under the binding, using the trailing end. Continue binding until near the end. Now loop the trailing end back on itself, bind over it and the limb until you reach the end point and finish by threading through the loop and use the old trailing end to pull under the binding as before.

Would there be any advantage is putting hemp cord on damp, so that it would shrink as it dries?
