what is best quality of horn strips

I am tiger from china ,just to come to this great forum to learn something,i have a plan to make long size horn strips i note that horn strips is very difficult to get for many masters,i will travel next week and try to find out horn resourse in china,but i am not expert on horn bow making,if some masters can tell me what is best quality of horn strips?including size detail etc.below is my sample:
long curve:55-70cm,wide:4cm,thick:3-14mm,if it is right size for making varied lbs horn bow?or ........

I agree with Kyudohund, those strips look very well prepared as well.
Stephen Selby will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I recall him saying OK when sinew was advertised here.

i feel here many person are very nice and friendly,i will do something good for these friend persons.I hope to get the permission of the forum b here and start to sell something nice to these very nice person.
I purchased stuff from Tiger sometime ago, his bamboo shafts are great. He's a serious and friendly seller too.

They look quite perfect. Hopefully they are even half as good as they look. Pictures are unfortunately deceiving for time to time.
No need to make them shiny. The inside surface will be roughed out for glue. The outside surface is likely to get processed for wanted thickness and tiller.

ok,i will think about it,but at least they should nice looking and not look ugly strips.

strips and workers here also cost higher than your imaginatin,so,price remain this,may be when i foind out more resourse,the price will be down,but it is quite difficult,bamboo is cheaper here but i told you why
I understand, but the question still stands. The are many among Atarnos who swear for quality of the bamboo shafts you sell, I'd like to give those a try.
My english is not so well to understand "swear " is positive or negative?

the workers turn a few by a few, one workers work a month one day works more than 12 hours pay 1500-2000 rmb(230-300$) can not fend house/child/old father mother/wife in china now, now lots workers is birth 1980-1990, most is his family can not fend his university and he has brother or sister, it is only our country take it is glory service for international poor man make cheep and tinpot got a few gain but many disputed, for the cheep clothing or shoes in china only poor man by it and it is very "crumbly", at least one cost 300rmb(50$) it is use more than one year
for the horn , i hear form juyanhao bowyer, his friend by lots wood and horn to him, but all of them is can not use for the bow, i has pay about 1500rmb for bad bamboos woods and horns, it is enough buy lots arrows for lots years shoot, i think if i can not care lost 1000$ it can allow i start make hornbow uninterrupted never mind not luckily,the best way , we need help form bowyer know how choice material, it is first step of make a bow, if first step is worng or bad.......the best way is learn all for more years form a bowyer, hehe , it is very expensive than you buy a bow form a bowyer

It is fine to put up a post about your products as long as you do not do any direct mail to ATARN Members.
Here is some advice about selling horn:
- Some people want the whole horn (a complete pair of horns from one water buffalo) so that they can cut it themselves. But then they have to pay a lot for the mailing cost. Others like cut horn like in your photos.
- Many countries will not allow import of untreated horn from China. You may have to complete some official forms to export the horns and that means you have to deal with your local officials. :oops:

I suggest you try one or two sales to good friends first who will be patient with you before you start any real 'business'.

big size the whole horn cost very vey higher shipping cost,as they are weight about 3kg,cost minimum 60$ for shipping(already best shipping cost)
and second is many country will check the whole horn and ask buyer many documents, so,it is quite complex and difficult business.
but for horn strips,i already test to shipping to vaired countries and without any problems for pass custom,
i plan to make first 50pairs long size strips during next 3 weeks,then 50-60pairs /each month of productions for future selling,
i will list some photos of them to buyers when i am ready them

One little advice Tiger: don?t flatten down the horn to much at the tips! Should be AT LEAST as thick as in the middle section.

yes,i will make taper shape from root to tips( thickest part),i try to make 3-4mm,8-9mm,10-12mm,and tips:13-14mm amd widest is 4cm,so,it can be done from 30-140lbs horn bow,yes?this size design will give bowyer many space to do varid horn bow,not like highland or germany company which do them 3-6mm and 6-9mm,i think they don't know what is bowyer need and they try to make more thin as they can,so,they can save some money as they can,but they make big mistake meanwhile;give less spce to bowyer to do vaired or big lbs horn bow,yes?
