Has anyone success with methods not including construction of special tools for grooving?

Such as grooving with metal saw blades.

gaoxiang and I allways use saw to groove ,small tooth and big tooth all tested and successed .I think guling methods is more important.

I used a small triangular file to make "teeth" of the right size in the back of an old sawblade, then mounted it in a handle to get better force on it. Worked ok. But I do not try to get matching grooves. Think blusky is right, gluing method is more important.

I also agree with bluesky. I use a metal cutting blade "as is" for wood and horn.

I do those of the lathe. a wide variety of size and shape of teeth. sharpening is very easy. work well.
