Advice needed on horn bow core taper and reflexing(pics)
Here is a core I glued up. The wood is hickory and the core is gemsbok. It is 52" long tip to tip, 1 1/8" wide. The limbs are 3/16" thick(half horn and half wood) for most of the length. The horn gets thin close to the siyah so I left the wood a little thicker to make up for it. Is this what I should have done? I plan to put 3 layers of sinew on it. Should I tie it into reflex before applying the first layer and about how much reflex should I add between each layer? The core twisted when I glued the horn on. I removed the twist but it came back. Should I remove the twist by using dry heat or how should it be done? I don't want my first horn bow to be heavy poundage. Does anyone have any idea what the weight would be with the final thickness 5/16" and how many grams of sinew it would need? Any advice appreciated. Riley
I can't get the pics to go on but the core is glued up without any reflex, just the recurve on the ends where the siyah is spliced

I meant to say the horn is gemsbok. I'll try resizing the pictures.
