Freezing collagen based glues
Does freezing collagen based glue (for storage) have any detrimental affect on its strength once thawed? Can it be frozen more than once?
I was wondering if the proteins are damaged in any way.
Thanks.

hi Dylan
never had problems freezing animal glue. Started doing that btw while stoing it in the fridge ruins it quite fast...and that stinks
To my knowledge thawing and freezing it multiple times doesnt matter much. What I usually do is make a batch of glue and store it in smaller containers so you can use small porions and always have some on the side.

from a bioscientist's point of view:
freezing doesnt damage the proteins, only repeated freeze-thaw cycles
(however, no one knows exactly how much cycles)
