String wax
I like to ask Adam about that old recepie in his book. I ve made it today and it turns a nice balsam.
The problem is, now I have about 1.5 dl string wax with about 4-5 part of fish bladder glue in it and dont want to waste it.
What can I do with? Put in the deep freeze? Wouldn't it destroy the glue molecules?
Thanks Z

Schould say a bit sticky cream

Do you use liquid string wax?
We korean use 'beewax'.
It is easy to get from 'honey-comb', and it is hard like a soap. so you need not keep it in the refrigerator.

No , this is an old Turkish recepie.
2 part resign, 1 part beeswax, 2 part turpentin, 5 part 10% glue, melted-mixed together
It gives a balsam which melted in the string whan going to handwarm, and whan it dryes the string going to be stronger and harder.
Now I'm shure it not fits for flamish twist, but will use on the finished string shure!
Now I dont know how to store it.
I know the the wax-resin type, I'm use it too. 1part beeswax and 1-2 part pine resign. Only bees wax is too soft in summer.

You got it wrong! The mix is only for the Turkish string loops (not for the string proper) to keep the twisted fibers together, impart some resistance to moisture and make the loops less slippery so the knot does not slide.
Freezing will not degrade the glue. It will re-form once warmed again.

Anyway I ve read about some kind of this material used for flemish strings too, but the recepie lost.
I think it would be usefull, just some kind of other way.
May be twist and pull the two or three part separetly and waiting for nearly dry and finish the string just after that....some experiment needs.
The string feels much stronger from this! Glue is do the job nicely :)
Thats a good news, I'll freeze it. Very nice material, I like it!
