My archery practice horse,
9 years old, ex-race horse, BAAAD temper, but fast as lightning, very good for single & double shoots in 90m, he is not afraid of anything really, just dont mess with his mouth & you can trust him.
his record for 90m, 5.4 seconds, but usually above 6.5s.
his father was a race champion for 2 consecutive years, he has few 2nd & 3rd places, and one 1000m win at age of 4.

The first horse seems more suited for buzkashi than archery,he would be a fine battlehorse and a good one for tent pegging and pig sticking.

You might know of tent pegging as nezebazi,it is a good sport of skill and needs a rider and horse absolutely in sync as in mounted archery.
The Indian army has regular meets for tent pegging and the NIHANGS do it as a daily practice.
Pig sticking on the other hand is much more dangerous and banned by the government but we still do it.
Cheers

Hello! I am new to this forum but have been shooting asian bows for a few years and shooting from horseback at my house for about a year now.
This is my archery pony. His name is Trappa. Or shane  He is a 10 year old 14 hands Welsh Cob. Excellent horse. He is very fast and doesn't afraid of anything. :D

Nice horse. And thanks for signing in with a real name.

And no worries, I couldn't think of anything more interesting.

hi all
just wanted to share a few pictures of my horse. It is a polocrosse horse, english thoroughbred. Research (and 'my own estimation) suggests that the Ottoman Turkish horse looked smth like this.
The size varied, could be as small as this horse around 15.2 to 16 hands as the Akhal Tekes today.
anyway after riding a lot of Arabian horses I think I understand why the Ottoman Turks preferred the Turk horse to the Arabian. It is much clearer in the head, bomb proof, can accelerate faster than the Arab, can turn quickly and is also very endurable. Perfect war horse.
this is a nice article by the way on the Turk horse:
http://www.lrgaf.org/articles/foundation-turks.htm
Only thing I don't agree with is 'over night 99% of the population was rendered illiterate' due to Ataturk's reform to change the alphabet from Arabic to Latin. Fact is, the literacy was about 5-10% at that time as arabic letters were not easy to read..
my best wishes to all horse people :)
