Horse ribs for belly?
Hi everybody! I watched a video "How to consruct an asiatic bow" made by John Mc Pherson & Jeff Schmidt . Jeff says that bowyer in Slovenia made a composite bows with a horse ribs on a belly side. Is it possible?
Why I interested? Ok, I will explain you. People (kazak, tatar & even russian) in my country like a horse meat very much, & it' s much easier to me to get a ribs than a horns. :)

I think a toe nail would make a better bow than a horse rib. Kazakh prepared horse meat is delicious. Khummis too.
Antler and bone are similar and there are severe restrictions on how well an antler bellied bow will perform. They were usually short-drawn and had no core. They were built so the neutral plane was in the antler and the sinew did most of the work.
I would say that horse hoovers would be good material instead of horn.
The size is however small problem
