Gold Calligrapher's Pen
Hi there,
In his book , Adam recomends using a steel nibbed calligraphers pen to 'paint' the gold along the edges of a bow. Does anynone know if this is a pen preloaded with gold ink or a fountain type pen you charge with your own gold solution? I've seen a selection of gold calligrapher's pens on Amazon but they all seem to have opaque ink, which, I'm guessing, won't have the density of coverage.
Any feedback most welcome

Adam could answer this better, but I guess it would be a standard pen, which you dip into the ink to write with, not a fountain pen
Metallic inks contain lacquer / shellac / &c. which will permanently clog a fountain pen.
Probably what was meant was a dip pen w/ a metal nib like a Speedball or Brause. Purchase from any art or craft store.

Yes, the standard to dip. The even width line (only at the edges of bows and the leather/bark covering to frame the edge decorations) is easier to achieve this way as opposed to a brush.

Thanks for the advice - I'll investigate.
