Polyethylen as horn substitute?

I have been making some boomerangs from some kind of polyethylen/plexiglass-variant some years ago, and were wondering if someone here might have used the material as a horn substitute? From my limited experience with the material I think it should be elastic enough, and it would be an interesting substitute to horn, though it would of course not be traditional in any way. Fully clear "horn" could be cool though.

Any thoughts?

Plastic bellies are not new but I'm not sure exactly how many different types of plastic have been tested. Most seem to have been reinforced with some sort of fiber.
Polyethylene takes a well selected glue in order to achieve good adhesion.

Hello,
In my proffesion we work a lot whit pe material.
It is very hard to glue because it is very oily stuff.
When heated to 190 Celcius it becomes like chuwing gum.

Best is horn.
