Best regards,
Amazing ! What years ? '70 ?
Maybe Grozer was inspired by this method to realize his
biocomposite; i.e. to make a pre-shaped strip of tendons and glue and
after fix it to the corewood.
What kind of glue is used to fix gorn ? It seems vinilic.

mr.Amatuccio,
I think this movie was made in late 50's or early 60's. Since i do not understand Hungarian i cannot answer about glue used in this movie but some Hungarian friend can tell us or i can ask my friend to translate main parts, i could say it is industrial glue, however, ancient Hungarians more than likely knew about fish glue beside hide/tendon glue. I was impressed about pre-shaped strip of sinew too, looks so traditional and very old way but am not sure were bows made this way able to reach 40lbs.
Greetings,

Greetings,
Very interesting but the building process seems a little strange to me,especially the sinewing part.I don't understand hungarian but I think he used casein glue to attach the horn to the core.Thank you for sharing.

Hello,
according to the credits and the end of the film, the folk songs were sung by M?rta Sebesty?n (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M?rta_Sebesty?n), she is a famous Hungarian folk singer.
So yes, the songs are definitely in Hungarian.
The film was shot in 1981. Here is the google translated wikipedia article about dr Gyula F?bi?n:

:? I notice the rune sign on the siyah because its the same as on Grozer's bows. what does it mean ? protection ?
TTT. Most interesting. I also think he used Casein glue to glue the horn. Wonder if such glue can be bought today? Markus.
all you need is buttermilk or whey, vinegar and baking-soda (NaHCO3) to make it.
You can hear the word casein mentioned during the glue up bit in the film.
One can wonder how the casein glue stands up to the bending and all, I've also read it's water resistant. It rather wasn't used in the original bows?

Thanks, will give it a try, found some recipes on how to do it. Markus.
