I have come back from a study trip to the Philippines (thanks to preparations by Peter Cua) where I did interviews and filmed traditional archery by the Aetas - one of the native tribes of the Philippines.

Great work!

Maybe I'm mistaken, but the archer looks to be using a pinch draw (not a 3-finger draw as per the description at the end of the video).

Looks like a pinch draw for me to, not sure.

Why they use so long arrows?
Compared to modern compoundshooters, they cut arrows as short as possible.

The long arrows stop the prey from moving far in the undergrowth after they are hit. Most shooting is less than 10 metres.
