Another view of Chinese craftsmen is that dried siner can be broken by hammering; but fresh sinew is best broken by rolling to preserve the longer threads better.

Has anyone done this? With what ? what results?
Heavy Dumbbell disks (hand weights) disks are my first idea.
What to do with rolled sinew? glue while wet or dry and glue.
Although I did not try such way, I ( tried and ) saw some videos about korean way ( long uninterrupted tradition ) and they hammer backstraps without fear of damaging the fibers, hence rolling tendons could be only utilising an opportunity ( rice-hulling roller ) for easier work ( but then, the results could be better somehow ? ) .
When hammering backstraps, my advice is to beat several layers of them ( mainly at thin ends ) at once ( with "rounded edges hammer " of course ) to not break sinew threads.
Hope it helps .

Moose leg sinews are long enough to cover the entire sal, so they could be glued as whole. This is enough motivation for me. The saved effort is another..
The text implied that rolled sinew would be glued as wet.
Looks like i will have to try...
Chinese stone roller is not useful information to me, as I do not have nor am able to obtain one.
I am also familiar with the "pounding dry sinew with wooden hammer"-method. I am also aware that this method will lead to sinew backing, that takes much more bend than any other material can take, even in horn bow.
