Meanwhile, I became unsure about sanding the sinew layer. Reto made the proposal to add another thin layer and not to sand anymore. But I have used strands from 35-40cm in lenght, no buttjoined fibers in the sal, but at the grips throat, kasan-ridge and kasan-eye, and the back is completely flat. The last sinew-layer is about 7 weeks old. Is it too old to glue another layer? I've got another bow and it's last layer is about 3 weeks old. I want to follow Adam's books meassurements preventing to get a much to strong bow. Should I sand down the sinew-layer some tenths of a millimeter thinner, coating it with hot thin glue until I get a glossy surface and adding another thin sinew-layer afterwards?
Markus, for the core I use some sort of mounting with a stop to make the grooves as precise as possible. I will send you a picture as soon as I find out how that works,

When it comes to adding another sinew layer perhaps I can be of some help. I had a reflexed short Yew bow that I had sinew backed a few weeks earlier. It had been laying around and had been handled so it most likely had some fingermarks on it. Then I used it without any further preparation to demonstrate for some people how to sinew back and layed another layer on it. After a week I could peel off the last layer like a banana skin.
I then lightly sanded off the high spots and washed the sinew layer with warm water and a clean cloth. I then sinewed it again and everything was OK.
