Bubbles in sinew
Hi, in sinew layer I discovered bubbles. I soak sinew in glue and then i squeezed the excess glue from sinew with help my fingers. Any ideat how did it happen?
They have to have been left there when you laid the sinew down. When you put a bundle on the bow lay just the tip of one end down and then use a finger behind the bundle to 'follow' it as you lay the rest down, pressing it to the core to expel any bubbles. Don't put the bundle down as a whole and then press it.
This is just what works for me.
You could try injecting a little thin, hot glue into the bubbles?

It is work of my friend, but i have similar problem. It look like little bubbles in glue, not between layers. I quess then bubbles are formed during mixing glue or when combing sinew.
Maybe you should let the sinew longer in the glue, so that the bubbles set. It takes a while with thicker glue.
Once it's dry, it's almost impossible to penetrate the sinew with a syringe, unless it's superficial.

Was sinew in water few hours before gluing?
I remember, I had little bit a same kind of surface in my sinewbackings years ago. That was time when I didnt kept sinewbundles in water before gluing them. Glue penetrate/go all over, better in to sinew if those are wet.
