Hungarian bow grip and siyah plates
hi folks. i have just joined your forum. Can anyone tell me the thickness of the bone/antler plates on the grip and siyahs of the hungarian bows?thanks. lew
Hi
The gripp side plates at the thickest middle point usually 3-3.5 mm and the siyah are 2-2.5
All of tham hollow like this )
On the siyah glued onto a triangular cross section wood. On the nock side at the back of bow the edges fited precisely.
The gripp plates have the same concave form but they are double concave. Cross section ( ) and from the belly ) ( looking like this. The gripps narowest point is on the middle , but this is the widest and thickest part on the antler plate.
