Making a Turkish bow

Hi everyone
I am very new here, and my interest is in Turkish bows. I would like to build one some day, now I am reading as much about the subject before I attempt the build. I do have a question, I've seen a video and read an article on a build and these individuals did not splice the handle or ears. They used one long piece of wood and bonded the handle and bash. Is there a disadvantage to this technique?
Thanks
Tc
No, it is just different. It is more difficult to find a longer lath in good quality. The advantage is that you save four V-splices and one gluing...
The other method is more authentic though...
I would recommend Adam Karpowicz’s book to read first, the second edition is out...Good luck!

Thanks,
That is what I thought I guess finding a piece of wood with no knots and straight grains over a 50+" is not easy. I have Adam's book coming
