I decided to try ash for the core on this bow. Mainly because I live in an area that is very thin on the ground for diffuse porous woods and I had to see if it would work!
5 piece core. Water buffalo sinew and horn. Natural pigments for the paints. Copal varnish.
I've been drawing it to 29 inches and looking at the string angle in the full draw picture it seems like that is about it for drawlength. It is only 45# or so at 29". Performance seems pretty good. I will chrono it soon.

no the horn is just normal black. I think you must be seeing the light reflecting off the horn. I have birch bark on the bending sections and yes some of the black paint is directly on the sinew.
