anyone know of a source of fish air bladder glue in the US ??
have never tried making hide glue and/ or fish glue myself so would rather purchase it for now.......

you could try to find croakers fish maw (chin.Yu to) from your Asia store (it has to be the Non-fried variety- best would be if it is air dried, ie.no external heat applied when drying) or you could order issinglass sturgeon bladder glue from: http://www.hellmann-leim.de/en/3.7_prod ... blase.html

Let me ask a beginner's question regarding said glue, if nobody minds...
if this glue is waterproof/humidity-proof... how does one prepare it? The whole point to hide glue is that it's a water-soluble glue, thereby allowing its suspension in water during preparation....

Fish airbladder glue is not waterproof; that is the reason Korean horn bows are generally not used in wet conditions. When bows break, they often go to fletchers; they soak the bows and retrieve the sinew for use in making arrows.

Okay, then if you'll excuse my ignorance, what makes this better for the job than rabbithide?

Here in Korea (and other parts of Asia), fish glue is easy to come by and has been used historically. It is a very strong yet flexible glue; its only drawback is its moisture sensitivity.
If the rabbit hide glue (or any other type of hide glue) works for you, use it.

Columbia Organ Leathers sells High Tack Fish Glue. They use it to glue leather bellows to organ pipes. I used it to glue leather to a siper. It works well. It is not water proof.

Isinglass not waterproof, but the system will generally bow artisan isinglass treated at a natural water-proof paint to moisture. Spodiopogon called us here, the effect was very good.
I think the better sourse of sturgeon glue is to buy 1 kilo live sturgeon in shop. i give about 10 g of sturgeon bladder. 1 kilo of sturgeon = 10 euro. (glue + meat :) In dick.biz webpage 100 g of sturgeon glue = 50 euro (wihtout meat).
