What weight for a Korean bow?
Hello,
I was wondering at which draw length the bows are weighted. When they say #50, does that mean at 28", or at the target draw of 30"? I would like to use the bow in both the dplit-finger (for which I draw at 28") and eventually learn the thumbring draw. Also, where can I get some long arrows? What would be an approximate length for my thumbring draw, If I pull 28" with a bent elbow, tip of finger at the corner of my mouth?
Thank you,
Marco Flavio

As far as I know, the Korean bows sold internationally are measured at AMO, i.e. 28". Traditional horn bowyers may use a different convention. Tom Duvernay can tell you.
What is the answer?
Thank you

Sorry, All
I haven't been on recently, as things became very busy for me here in Korea. The president of the university appointed me chair for my dept. Needless to say, I'm a bit busier than usual now.
The modern laminated version of the Korean horn bow is weighed at either thumb draw length (~31") or standard finger draw (28"). Korean horn bows are weighed at the former.

So are the laminated modern korean that you sell, Mr. Duvernay, weighted at 28" or 31? If I buy a 50# bow, will it be almost 60# at the thumbring draw weight?
Thank you so much,
Marco
Thank you so much,

Marco,
It's your choice as to what draw length they are weighed at.
