Not A Horn Bow
This is a sinew backed recurve I made for someone recently. The bow is 59" N to N and pulls 65# @ 31". It is made from HHB billets glued into deflex with steam bent recurves. I then reflexed it with dry heat with additional reflex put in with sinew by reverse bracing. Initially she started out with 6 1/2" of reflex and lost just over 2" of that tillering her out. I did not chronograph this bow for speed but did shoot it several times and it is quite fast. No horn but shows what can be done with just wood and sinew.

Hi Marc,
again a high quality work from you.
The shape remembers me to an egypthian angular bow, only the horn belly is missing ;-), but I'm pretty shure we will try this also :D

Marc, it seems that you have yourhandles quite short, at a guess maybe 5 inches, with the arrow pass at the top. It also seems that your limbs are about the same length, if I'm not mistaken. Do you have to do anything special with the tiller for a bow made such?

The handles on these short bows is short but the non working section of the handle is more than that. The Ebony by itself is about 6" long.

No this bow is a hunting bow. The guy it's going to has no interest in flight shooting, so far as I know.
