History of the Nomads
To understand better the traditional archery and the nomad martial arts let's discuss about the history of the nomads!
It's quite a broad field of knowledge. Would you specify your interest?
J? reggelt Jenő!
This discussion started about Magyars and Scytians in a different topic, that's why I supposed to open a new one to have a free discussion about nomads, culture and different nations.
Luckily this forum includes archers, people from around the world so this is a good place to discuss about this subject.
Also especially I'm quite curious about the thinking of other nationality people about Magyars.
Jeno, as you know well (I hope so!) still the official stand-point (from MTA) is that we are in close relationship with Finnish nation. This is not really true, I had a discussion about a couple of Finnish people, they explained me first in 15 years ago, after I started to check this out.
Nowadays becoming more common and accepted theory that we are close relationship with T?rks and Huns.
Please let me have your comment about aboves.
Thanks,

You are quite right, the Hungarian (Magyar) language spoken in the Carpathian Basin belongs to the Ugor languages (or rather this is the only Ugor language spoken by more than a few thousand people). However the Magyars of Arpad were probably t?rks speaking a kipchak (the Majghard) language closely related to the old bashkyrd. It is a very common mistake mixing the language and the ethnic of the Magyars conquering the Carpathian Basin in the 9th Century and building up a solid state still functioning till today. Those who spoke the Ugor language (i.e. the Hungarian) were most probably the late Avars of the second conquest in the middle of the 7th Century. If it's true (which appears very probable) than the magyars speaking a Kipchak language are not identical with those Avars speaking an ugor language. So these things should be separated even in the minds.
However the bows of the Magyars and the bows of the Avars are fairly similar as it can be judjed by the bow-bones found in the graves.
