I don't know what to call it

I've been experimenting alot with building cores for future horn bows. I've had several failures in the past with the wood core breaking after many months of waiting for sinew, glue, horn to all cure. So I went back to the basics and wanted to 1st learn how to make a good core. I figure if one can be confident of the core then there is no fear nor waste of $ when the sinew and horn go into it.

Here is my latest core experiment. It is crepe-myrtle backed in silk wrapped in hemp and lacquer. I still need to work on the nocks. I call it the "Nomad" as I've visited many virtual cultures and bowyers, and travels many hundereds of online miles. I'm also a bit of a restless soul; my father's mother was born too gypsies from Bohemia.
