Some bows in Shenyang
This is probably more of a travellers tip in case someone are interested.
We got a scanner the other day and tested scanning old photographs. I then remembered I tok a
photograph of two bows and some arrows in Shenyang (Liaoning Province) some years ago.
Lack of a digital camera and unsure of the light conditions I took only this one picture.
I searched this forum for "Shenyang" without luck so I guess there is no references
to a display of Qing bows i Shenyang.
Inside the "gugong" ("forbidden city") in Shenyang there is, alongside
the "parade square" a pavillion for each of the Qing banners. Each of these little
pavillions contained (if memory serves me correct) a display of uniform/armour, banner and weapons
for the appropriate banner.
One of the displays looked like this:

Very nice.
These were the personal hunting bows of the Qing Empereor, Qianlong.
