hwarang bow presentation in romania

I have made the presentation of my hwarang bow to the olympic style and compound romanian archers at a FRTA archery contest.
The compound shooters were very impressed about the bow power and fexibility.
First time when I have draw it the guys was runing away!

At first look is like the cupid's bow, small, thin, light, with very nice curves, a little bow for children.
When I have start to shot , the guys have become quickly to come to see the bow at work.

I have shoot a bamboo completely through the target at 50 meters! At this distance, my 10 mm arrow have penetrate the target with the point 3-4 cm out of the 40 cm foam. A guy with a 60 lbs high tech hunting compound was shooting with aluminium at the same target, but his arrows were penetrating the target with the point only few milimeters out of the target back.
And my arrows, considerably heavier, were little bit faster!

Unfortunately my precision was not so good, I will not say the score

Especially after my new ring has broken I have shot very bad with a sugackji ring... Was good for the spectators, they was amused watching how my arrows penetrate the targets frame and legs... The organisers was not.
After the contest, at the closing festivity, they said me "The Targets Destroyer " he he he

I cannot upload pics...

I have a question about your bow. is the string tillered to the middle of the bow or is it to the side you shoot from?

Eugen,

If you haven't done so, I would recommend modifying the sugakji. When I send them to people, they are in a standard state: thumb hole one size and knob long. The thumb hole should be made wider (your thumb should be a little loose in it) and a wedge placed in back of the thumb to take up the slack. The knob should be shortened and upturned a bit. Take a look at http://www.koreanarchery.org/sugakji.html for pics illustrating what I'm talking about.

Matt,

The string is in the middle plane of the bow.
The nock is high.
I will make some pics soon.

You live in Romania? Where? We have a traditional archer's club at Oradea. Next week we will made a presentation in Targu Mures.

I have some regrets because my precision was not so convincing like the power and spedd of the bow.
I'm learning...
