Turkish style bow(gold on blue)
Hello again to everyone.First of all I would like to thank Stephen Selby and all the people who directly or indirectly helped and supported me through this site:I started a workshop months ago and without your help it wouldn't have been possible.
This bow is 57-8# at 29" and the pattern of the decoration is vaguely inspired by a Crimean-Tatar bow from the Grayson collection.
Every comment is welcome.

As always, Francesco, a beautiful peice of work.
Could the brace height be a little higher? I have some concerns about stability with the siyahs at such an acute forward angle.

Stephen,you are right.The bow was braced at 6 3/4",but 7-7 1/4" would be better.I rechecked the draw weight and it's 61#@29".
Hi Hardman, what do you mean with "side nocks"?
Scemdonmez, the bow is 124 cm long NTN measured along the belly.

I witnessed the side nock on some antique victorian longbows. It is where the nock has been filed out on one side of the bow, but not the back or opposite side. I think they were found more on pre-historic bows.
Having made a second look at your photos, I see that the angle on your last photo confused me somewhat and you use in-fact a regular nock, apologies.

A really nice bow with beautiful paintings !
How thick and width is your hornplate, core and sinew-backing (at the middel of each limb) ? And how long are your Siyahs ?

you are genius of art! i'm sure i can not paint these parten pattern so beautiful.
I like your work very much. This is a delight to the eyes.
This bow is working more than usually in the handle part.
The kasan part is quite straightening at full draw despite its thickness.
Is it what you wanted to obtain ?
What is the core structure ?
Is the handle fishtailed joint or glued on the back ?
Did you try both ?
My first composite bow has been inspired by your bow design.
You can see it here.

Thank you Jiao and Jerome.
Jerome with this bow I wanted a more gradual bending since I was not very confident with the quality of the (ash) core. The handle is simply glued to the back:if you have a nice piece of wood long enough for the whole core don't bother with handle splices.Otherwise splicing at the handle allow you to use shorter pieces of wood but it takes more work.
Your bow seems very nice, how much is the thickness of sinew?
