Turkish Poems
Hello
I read that some turkish bows have poems on their belly. The poem that I read was in german, so I try to translate it in english.
'draw on the breast the arrow of the (eye)lash, the bow of the (eye)brows'
I would like to know what eyelash and brows means. Maybe someone of you could help me.

Hello Shad,
In the Ottoman era there was a kind of poetry that was called "Divan Poetry". In Divan Poetry eyelashes (of the beloved) should give you the impression of arrows that pierce the poets heart. Eyebrows would be the shape of a bow. Eyebrows like bows, eyelashes like arrows. Its a sort of appraisal on the beauty of the beloved. Can you also send the german version?

And the tightening of the bowstring is like the lover whispering in your ear. Tatar saying. -j-
