Korean Shaped Bamboo Bow?
Can anyone tell me in this post how to make a bamboo bow using only strips of bamboo, no bridges, w/ ears and handle shaped exactly like the korean bow. Of course w/ the help of laminations, glue and heating element, etc.
A laminated bow will not bend as far as a horn bow so make one in the shape of a synthetic Korean bow, the modern ones. Make a form, prebend the slats, glue together on the form.
I will repeat for the umteenth time that bamboo makes a great back on a bow wood core. The belly and edges can then be worked and a bow made in short order. The core can be made of as many layers as desired.
Tweek the form till you get what you want. Keep the best one. -j-
