inner horn side question
Haeve anybody experiences vith inner side of horn ? I know that all informations said that only outer side is useable. But know anybody why ? Adam wrote in your book that turkish bowyears use only outer side.He mention that inner strips has usually splitting into layers. But i notice splitting in some outer side too, but some inner sides looks very good ? Often is visible long splitting inside horn plate. Is inner side horn plate worse than side walls ? I have so much good loking inner side plates ... :lol:
I have done bows of that. Some do split but if good its like the out side in function. Side walls are usable also.
Thank you Redhorse. But i need more detail info. :) I was glued some bow vith side wal too, but this inner plates nervous me . :lol: And i have inaf lost material and bad bows. Maybe time starTing in better results. From this reason i dont risky good wood and sinew in bad horn plate...
If you are not going to risk the bow, don't use the inner curve. Its more brittle. But it seems that ones a good strip has been found and tested before glue it work good.
Huh, like many time earlier i must risk . Only experiment-mistake way is the right way, but eat time and money :roll:
