Great idea! I'll be getting one right before I do my next sinewing job. Also it might be good for making sinew / hide glue.

slow cookers make perfect glue pots for hide glue and sinewing purposes they are very cheap and keep the perfect temperature, I use one always, with good results

Slow cooker is probably better idea, haven't heard of one before, but found several from amazon.co.uk ...

I have severin Fr2408 deep fryer. It has 900ml filling space, min filling is about 1/3. The temperature goes 25?C down before it starts going up. Probably ok, for cooking french fries...

When I fill it with water and put the temperature to 70-95 the glue in a separate glass jar was 60-65?C. Quite ok, for sinew(?), but probably a bit low for wood.

for making glue temp needs to be kept around 65-70 for 12 hours, temp should stay below 70, dont know about all slow cokers but mine is perfect, can be kept slightly lower for sinewing, but cooker has a high and low setting
