Neck tendons - making glue?
I have gotten hold of about 20 large neck tendons from moose. I've read what Adam has written about them in the book, so I won't use them as a backing. They definitely seem a lot more rubbery and not as strong as the leg tendons.
What can they be used for? They're still drying (which seems to take about twize the time of drying leg tendons) so I haven't tried to pound them and see if fibers are obtainable.
I guess I could make glue from them? What is a good method of making sinew-glue?

Sometimes I forget that we have the marvellous resource Atarn.org.

For the best quality glue, I guess it is important not to heat it over 60 degrees celcius? - and to skim away what comes to the surface. It is probably also good to mechanically cut/mash the tendons, to use less heat over less time? How long heating time would be too long? I guess at one point one have to stop and remove the things that have not turned into glue?
Some of the neck tendons have dried now, and I tried to pound one, which really underlined that the neck tendons contain no real fibers like the leg or back tendons. It simply cracked in every direction when I put it under the hammer. They will all become glue...

I would suggest making a small bundle with the shredded tendons wrapped in cheesecloth and soaking in the pot overnight before turning on the heat, will make removal of scraps after the glue is made easier and quicker.
