Thumbring-archery training weekend, Germany, 20-22 July 2012
Hello Atarnos,
I want to announce a thumbring-archery training weekend in Germany. It will be from 20th to 22nd July 2012 in D-34388 Trendelburg, near Kassel in northern Hessey. The exact location is "Hofgut Stammen" an old manor rebuild to a hostel with own archery range and 3d-parcours.
The webpage of the manor is www.hofgut.de and machinetranslatable if necessary.
If you want to reserve a room, please put the word "Daumentechnikworkshop" somewhere in the messages to make sure you belong to the training weekend. If there is no more room available you can still stay on the group-campsite. The campsite is reserved - and sleeping in the car is possible if necessary.
Thumbring archers and interested from all over Germany are expected - kyudoka, chinese and turkish style archers and mixed techniques.
Programmpoints are troubleshooting with beginners problems, presenting some archerystyles, a little basics, a kyudo beginners training and hopefully some more points which are not announced yet.
Feel free to contact me if you need more information or help!

Just a short review:
It was a great weekend with over 20 thumbring-archery interested archers. advanced and expert archers in Japanese kyudo, traditional Indian archery, Korean archery, Turkish archery, Chinese archery presented their way of archery after a short introduction for beginners. It was great to exchange ideas and techniques between the ways of archery and inside our special interest groups, like experience-exchange between korean-archery enthusiasts and finding similaritys like the mental preparation before shooting in kyudo and vedic-Indian archery. All of this still makes me and others smile from one ear to the other :).
