The only comment I have for you is that it is beautiful!

Wow! That's really stunning, just like your previous bows 8) You seem to be making these with a quite high production rate. Impressive :)

How much reflex did you pull it into while sinewing? Did the tips touch? I'm sure that one would do very well at the flight-range
Alessi Francesco
Thanks.Yes,the tips were touching, here is a picture.Actually I would like to make more bows, but I end up wasting too much time for one reason or another.I appreciate your support.

The core is all made of different kinds of maple.I let the bow season for about three months.

Gorgeous. So is all that reflex put in when you sinew? Or did you heat the bow for additional reflex before seasoning?

And another question, hehe: How do you make the siyahs? Are they natural grown, steam bent from straight pieces, or laminated? They seem to have such a nice sharp bend.

If they are steam bent, how thick is it at the bend? I have trouble bending 12mm+ thick pieces, and end up having to build up the thickness in the inner curve with sinew...

The bow was reflexed during sinewing, before and after each layer of sinew, without using heat. The siyahs are made in two pieces each, about 8mm thick, bent with boiling water and glued together one on top of the other:not very traditional but it works well for me.

Hi to all and especially to Francesco,

My name's Ralf, quite new at Atarn but already passionate.

I can't, but I would like, to watch the pictures. If I click the link I'm asked to register somewhere, again! Is there another way to have a look?
