Maybe I am weirdie but I dont like camera in my workshop, I always try to work on maximum focus and camera make me nervous. Good news so far, I tillered turkish bow and shoot few times. Bow is long - 134 cm ntn and overbulid , mass about 380 gram. I dont make big reflex before tillering, so directly after unstrung in sal section have string follow, few minuts and back to shape. This was very careful project, maybe it is nothing special but Im happy that my first turkish bow live  . Now I go on holliday but 2-3 weeks I show you leather cover on bow. Sorry for my english

Your English is very good! Better than some English people :D
I'm also not keen on camera's in the workshop when contration is needed. Your bow looks very nice indeed. Well done on your first one.

Hmm, I have doubt, I never learn english, know only from songs :). Looks that tatar bows survive too. I start to leather cover, put ultra thin 0,8 mm , every uneven on sinew are visible :( . I must work on it in future .

My first turkish bow :) On foto pull on 27 " , but easy to 30 inch, maybe more. Unstrung picture is after few days rest, directly after unstinging have little string folow. 7 inch BH. Maybe too much reflex in kasan eye but I dont change it , bow have no problems with twist limbs and have good energy storage. kasan 20 cm , sal 27 cm , tip 11 cm. 3 cm in middle of sal to 2,1 cm in kasan and handle .Next bows will be more agressive in sal area and shorter for sure :). Few days I show crimean tatar

Great form your bow has. Just as the old ones. Very difficult to achieve this. Congrats

Darn, Lukasz, your Crimean Tatar is excellent!!!!!!!! Thumbs up and Congrats, very impressive work!
Can you tell me pls how long piece did you use for the grip, is this same lenght as in Turkish bow or you used shorter piece?
Best regards,
lukasznawalny
Tatar bow core is from 4 pieces , handle is glued from top. Handle is longer then in turkish
Zoran Pavlovic
Thanx Lukasz! do you mean that riser is glued on curved strip? Why not method as in Ottoman bows but limbs just glued under certain angle with part of splice which is in bending portion?
lukasznawalny
I think glue like in turkish bows in angle could be better way. I must try in future
Zoran Pavlovic
For me it is better way because it is easy to find knot free wood for 2 shorter limbs spliced in grip with siyahs spliced (5 pieces construction) than long knot free strip , this sounds more historical way to me. Although, i repeat myself, your Crimean Tatar is freakin' awesome!
maithly
The handle splices are 5 inches (12.7cm) in length and were cut with a bandsaw. I immediately applied 4 coats of 10% air bladder glue followed up with a generous amount of 30% glue. Only light clamping pressure was needed as the parts fit very well.

my second turkish bow , 55 lb ,mass 315 gram, 118 ntn , maple core, painting from Dresden Museum. http://www.fotosik.pl/u/robinn/album/1540399
Now I make another hornbow series with heavy draw weight tatar and turkish but also crab and hungarian, crab looks very difficult for me
