I bought refined fish glue from art shop for art products.
Flakes are very fine and almost transparent. Looks like a cooking gelatin, but not of granules. I will show pictures.

how's this glue working? I bought some here in Bucharest also from an art store, fairly cheap. I have my own prepared hide glue but it's difficult to obtain enough bladders so I grabbed a bag of the stuff. I will use it, maybe, but I like to learn from others experience.

Unclear why people are afraid to use something that someone says it does not work??

Yes if you are unsure just do some testing with scraps of wood/horn etc.
I always test my glues and that way I know they are very strong. I like to glue two blocks of wood together, let them dry and then put one piece in a vice and try to shear off the other piece. The wood always fails first. Once you have done some testing it's a lot easier to have confidence in your work. :)
