Flattening Gemsbok Horn
I am attempting to get some horn strips out of gemsbok horns. i have already split the horn and filed off the ribs on the outside. How should i flatten them? i know i have to heat them up, and then press them. i would appreciate any advice from people who have done this before.
thanks in advance.

There you go. I tried it and it worked for me. Make sure you heat the horn up reall good, otherwise it will crack. Heat it with a heat gun, not a propane torch. Make sure the horn has even thickness, that way when pressed it bends evenly and a thinner part doesn't break off.[/list]

I know that it has been a year since this was posted, but I was wondering if anyone who has used this process could tell me how it works. I tried the link, but the website said that the topic no longer exists.
