I am going to rent a cottage for two weeks close to Eger and I am asking the Hungarians here what archery related museums or sites there are within a few hours drive?

As far as I know there is an exhibited original Turkish bow with some arrows dated from the late 17th Century in the Castle Museum of Eger. You can also contact the members of the Servitores Universitatis Militum Agriensium (Egri Vitezlo Oskola, H-3300 Eger, Var u. 1, Hungary, tel: +36 20 211 2266, email: [email protected] , website: http://vitezlo.fw.hu/ ). They can probably give you detailed information.
There are traditional archery clubs in Eger:
one is called Unicornis Egri Ijasz Sportegyesulet, website: http://unicornisse.fw.hu/ , unfortunately this hompage is only in Hungarian. The head of this group is Mr. Peter Roman, tel: +36 30 303 8420).
Another club is called Dobo Istvan Archery Club, H-3300 Eger, Tovises ter 10, Hungary. I do not know anything more about them. (You will find the name of Istvan Dobo everywhere in Eger, he was the head of the castle in 1552 during the defence against the Turks.)
Traditional archery clubs are also available not too far from Eger:
