Applying Leather covering to bows.
Hello,
In as much as I've searched I can't find much information as to what kind, thickness etc... and how to apply the leather backing on turkish bows?
Could some one point me in the right direction on this topic.
Thanks
Andrew

Hello
I was under the impression that the leather was used as a covering to protect the bow during use and also the user if the bow broke under tension.
Here is the UK there is a company called Le Provo who sell different types of hides that may be useful. http://www.leprevo.co.uk/index.html
I would have thought that a thin goat hide would be ideal for the job.
cheers John

I recommend "Morocco Leather" used for book-binding. There are many colours and types available from bookbinders' suppliers.
