A Take-down 'Traditional' Bow

In order to satisfy people who would like to try out a traditional bow design (Tibetan horseback archery bow), we have developed a take -down design that should be quite inexpensive to ship. It is 100% fiberglass limbs with a steel grip and wooden siyahs.
Construction is dead simple. I am not making any great claims about the shooting quality of this bow. We are producing them for poorer people in the west of China. I can certainly shoot accurately enough with it. We do not have very great demands for horseback archery shooting.

Here is a photo of the components. The is a leatherette covering and some silly plastic decoration that we'll get rid of. They cost US$200 before shipping. This is a bit more expensive than the local price; but we are hoping that western buyers will subsidize our production for the Tibetans, who have no money to buy bows.

I am a college student and having something like that would be much easier to take back and forth between home and school (especially since right now I only have 6 foot longbows).

Thanks,

I now have six of these bows available for US$200 each plus shipping. Weight is about 35# (no other weights are available at present). Draw length is up to 30".

Just wondering: are these the same bows now being offered for $150 plus shipping? If so, that's a pretty hefty discount....

Thanks to Stephen, I was able to test one of these bows. For the limited distances used in horse archery, it is perfectly acceptable. My shooting of it aslo showed it to be consistent and accurate to about 50 metres. I did not try it past that distance.

As a cheap and transportable bow it succeeds, but it is well to remember that it has its limits. However, it is smooth to draw and most people who saw me shoot at my club were intrigued by the shape.
